Alli available in the UK

Alli is not in fact a new drug or medication but something which has been on the market for a number of years. Alli is in fact exactly the same as the weight loss medication Xenical but is just a half dose version of it.
GlaxoSmithKline which have the rights to the orlistat medication in the lower dose format have applied to the European drug regulators to allow the drug to be sold without a prescription.
The obesity pill, orlistat, has been licensed to be sold over-the-counter at chemists in the EU.
The pill, which works by blocking the absorption of fat in the body, will be avaliable sometime in April 2009.
